1430 Hijrah Salam Maal Hijrah

It was 1 Muharam 1430 yesterday a New Year for Islamic Calendar.

I thank Allah for letting me wake up this morning to see this beautiful World of His, seeing my other half again, able to kiss my two teenage girls this morning both were still sleeping when I left them, high five with my MU fan son as my favourite Chelsea manage to a draw last nite, helped scratch both my Persian and Siamese cats, switch-on the garden fountain for the birds and squirrels to dance and bath, had my Oldtown White Coffee, drove my favourite car and arrived office to the greetings of my staff and colleuges. Life is so beautiful and I am thankful to be alive for another day and may Allah grant me another blissful year.

Alhamdulilah.

It is 25th Dec, time to be merry and tolerant but...

It is Christmas and I wish all my Christian friends Merry X'mas.

Suddenly, I remembered a very good friend of mine Dr Leow Chin Her. During our high school days, the three of us were roomates together with Mohd Nor. I can still remember how Chin Her will play his guitar humming the verses from the bible from his bed. At the same time Mohd Nor a staunt Islamic Student Leader was busy calling for prayer (Azan).

I was the headboy and both were my deputies. The three of us live harmoniously in that 12X8 ft.sq room together and it never cross our mind on our different color and different religion. How tolerant we are!

But today, we see those bloody politicians manipulating religion and race sensitivities, to the extend of jeorpadizing the society, and it really made me want to spit on their face or throw my shoes (just like what Bush had) if I meet them.

Compare to yesteryear, our children today don't know what tolerant is. This is all because of these stupid, selfish, half cook and cow brain politicians that we had, who keep arguing on having separate schools and separate medium for the school children. They are so racist that they want schools only for their own color and speak their own mother tongue. Surprisingly, they never dare to demand these if they were in US, Europe or even in Singapore!

Again, if we were to look back at these half cook politician background none of them were actually intelligent students when they were young. They were either problem child or bottom of their class and lack of both IQ and EQ.

That's why they become half cook politicians! In Malaysia, these group are good for nothing and they won't last long as everyone already know their true color!

My prayer for new year, may we get rid all these chauvinistic, racist and dumb head politicians.

Happy Holidays and Happy New Year.

It's the Sultan's Birthday and no Datuk for politician...

Today is the Sultan's Birthday and it is a public holiday.

Unlike others, I am not surprise, His Royal Highness decided that there should not be any state award to the politician this year. I couldn't agree more. If you are here in Malaysia you should see how this low EQ and IQ politician behaved themselves in this past one year after the election either in parliment or in public. I am ashamed with this first timer politician aka moron, who really think that they won the last election because the rakyat love them! They can't even speak proper Bahasa Malaysia, or able to finish a sentence correctly and yet they have the cheek to call themselves Bangsa Malaysia and Yang Berhormat (go fly kite! phew..) They are just what in Malay proverbs said "Seperti kaduk naik junjung", or "Seperti kera mendapat bunga" and many more.

It reminded me during my high school days, there was this big bully who was not only dumb but extremely naughty. The discipline teacher was so fed-up he decided to appoint this notorious bully as a prefect. Surprised with the appointment, the dumb-head bully thought all the teachers in school love him. He pretended to be a role model for a while but less than a month everyone can see his true color supplying cigarettes to his gang in school and other evil deeds. There is a popular saying "Mulut berkokok tapi buntut penuh tahi"! They seemed to be championing everything but they themselves are part of the problems. They are the real racist, sadist, facist whatever extremism represent. They are the one.

This is exactly what these half cooked politicians are to me. Hopefully someone is kind enough to tell them the truth just like the dumb-head bully!

Landslide In Bukit Antarabangsa - They just never learnt!

It was a very sad day for people living in Bukit Antarabangsa, Ampang and its surrounding. A big landslide has damaged 14 bungalows and killed 4 people. Many lost their homes and belongings. The hardship caused not only to the families but also to people living around the Bukit Antarabangsa as their houses and apartments were cut off from the basic amenities i.e electricities and water. They were also literally cut off from the outside world as the only road leading to the housing area was damaged badly. The army are working nite and days to help restore the electricity and water and also build a temporary road.

My uncle Pak Cik Darif and his family was one of the many people who were trapped at their house in Bkt Antarabangsa. We did not know they were affected until we received his sms informing us, his family were safe and fine. But they could not get out of their place and were relying on ration delivered by the army. We pray that all the people and family affected will be strong and able to go thru this trying moment patiently. My deepest condolence to the families who have lost their love one in this tragedy.

I hurts me to see in the newspaper report today, the authority only words is "we will stop all development of the hillslope"... as I has heard it before during the Highland Tower tragedy. Immediately, the next day we saw reports that the GREEDY developers cried fault and unfairness. This are the same group of people who makes "Millions Of Ringgit" at the cost of people life and yet they demand fairness.

Where are the NGOs who talked about protecting the environment and the politician who potrayed themselves championing the cause of the people! I did not hear a single word from all these environmental champions and politician fighting back with the developer! You know why? Because these new politicians are just the same like the GREEDY developer! We can already see their true color protecting their own kind! The rakyat were tricked during the last election of the empty promises of protecting the environment!

Can't wait to hear these landslide matters being debated in the parliment!

Eid Adha Mubarak

Selamat Menyambut Hari Raya Aidil Adha. This year just like previous years, the Hamdan's family sacrificed 1 ekor lembu. But this year unlike previous years, only the children, my mom and their cousins witnessed the "korban" in Merlimau. Me and my other half decides to stay home quitely with our ketupat and rendang itik.

The children insisted of watching the "korban" as they wanted to see their "tunggangan" during hari kebangkitan. They were thrilled on the idea that this "beautiful and strong cow" will carry them on the Judgement Day.

The celebration reminded me of the sacrifices both my wife and me went thru during our hajj 7 years ago. It was the most enriching experience and something that touch our heart for the rest of our lives.

Eid Adha is all about sacrifices. Many who went to Mecca might not get the whole concept of hajj. Instead of pursuing for "Keredaan Allah" they fight to "finishing the ritual at all cost". Thus you can see how greed, selfishness and arrogance were demonstrated instead of humbleness, sharing and sacrifices.

The ambience of Arafah somehow gave us a peek of what Padang Mashar will look like. It really moved me and my other half. From that day onwards we see life differently with a lot of "counting our blessing". Those who gives - receives!

Price of oil dropped to USD43

The price of oil has dropped to USD 43 per barrel today. It was USD120 less than 3 months ago and I remembered a friend was joking, he will cut his finger if the price of oil dropped to below USD 80.

Personally, I am of the opinion that the price should stabilize at USD 68 to reflect its true value.

All they need is for OPEC to reduce production and another bad weather in the states.

The Gang Annual Pre-Raya Visit to Jln Masjid India

It was the Gang Nite Out last Friday. We decided to go for "Malam Mencari Nasi Kandar" for sahur. But with Roslan (my eccentric bro-in-law) everyone was conned to go to Jln Masjid India for our annual ritual Raya shopping for bargain baju raya, butang baju melayu, songkok, bunga plastic and macam-macam ada... However, this year, the ladies managed to find a stall that sell excellent Rendang Tok and Rendang Sotong. The Rendang Sotong was so good myself and Ibuk Puspa almost finished the whole tupperware of it.

Later the Gang decided to go for the famous Nasi Lemak International in Kg Baru. It was already 4.00 am but the place was so busy. It was so packed not only with the Muslim but the non-muslim were also busy lining-up hoping to get a taste of the nasi lemak. My verdict of the Nasi Lemak..OK lah but I had taste better!

After the nasi lemak, the gang decided to be more adventurous by exploring further in Kg Baru for the "Fire Flower". We managed to get some but Ibuk Shila spent the most. I have the feeling, she must have been deprived of all this during her childhood... Anyway I am happy coz my "Fire Flower" cost much less than the one bought by Ibuk Puspa.

I know this year Hari Raya will be a great one for the Gang and their family. Just can't wait for those Open House!

Raya Mood

Everyone in the office already in Raya mood today.

I will still be working till Tuesday.

I dedicate the following Raya wish to all my staff, friends, relatives, and to all the hearts that I touch before.... Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri Maaf Zahir Dan Bathin...

A Call From Mecca Makatul Mukaramah

My mom called from Mekah Makatul Mukaramah last nite. She is fine and will be back home this Sunday. It has been her annual ritual event to spend the last 2 weeks of Ramadhan in the holy land.

She used to bring back many souvenirs (tasbih, prayer mat, kopiah, jubah and even carpet!). This time around I told her not to stressed herself with all these gifts. She should just spend her time, money and energy for herself and Allah. I hope, I managed to convince her.

Mekah and Madinah have always been close to my heart. I was there with my other half last year for our umrah. I still remembered my first umrah back in 1997. I was so excited and ignorant I tried to finish 3 umrah in a day.

I did my Haj in 2000. I was lucky because of my assignment in Dubai, I was considered as delegate from Middle East country thus didn't fall under the Malaysian quota. (of which in Malaysia young people like me will have to wait for another 10 years).

The experience was so blissful, I learnt a lot. Haj really turn my perspective about life and relationship among human being altogether. I tend to appreciate more with what I have nowadays.

"those who gives - received".

Johor - down memory lane

I was in Johor last Thursday for the engagement session with our staff. I haven't been to Johor for more than 2 years and by the time the plane touched down in Senai, I felt a sudden sad feeling. First, Johor had always been my favourite place. I spent almost 3 years during my younger years working in fabrication yard in Teluk Ramunia and Pasir Gudang. Second, I lost my elder brother (2 years older than me - Along) here in JB recently. He passed away in his car at the car park of his apartment in Stulang upon arriving from KL.

The airport is under construction and I can see they are building a bigger airport to fit the status of Iskandar Development Region. The taxi trip from airport to Mutiara hotel, passing by the UDA and the Petronas Station (I stayed here before at Jln Padi Huma 3), really hits the sentimental spots in me. It is trip down memory lane with many nostalgic places and thoughts playing in my head.

How time flies! I was a young engineer in 1992 looking after my first project in MSE Pasir Gudang and Sime Engineering in Teluk Ramunia. It was almost 16 years ago! Those days driving around with my black Ford TX3, I seemed to be immortal! Life is full of fun and energy. You know what you want and you work hard for it. Driving back and forth JB-KL-JB passing by the highways and the dark Desaru jungle at 2.00am seemed normal. At one time, one of our colleague was late for a meeting in KL. He had an accident near Felda Air Tawar just after Desaru. He actually hit a father elephant, accompanied by the mother elephant and baby elephant. The Jumbos were crossing the road and lucky him, the car hit the soft spot on the animal. Surprisingly all three Jumbos just walked by as though nothing happened. My friend's car was totally wreck and the insurance considered it as "write-off". He was OK except for some after shock experience! Those days you can even heard the roar of the tiger if you forget to close your back door at nite!

My late Along was just being assigned to his new job in Johor early this year. He was so proud of his new job and took it seriously. I was in US when it happened. Along had travelled back from KL to JB on Friday to attend a "gotong royong" function which he had to officiate. 12 hours earlier I did sms him telling him I will be flying back to KL from Washington DC that weekend. As usual he replied "Roger" and he will wait for me at KLIA on Sunday. But as fated, Allah loves him more, I got a call from my younger sister on Friday(US time when I was about to leave for New York Airport), telling me the sad news that Along passed away in his car at his apartment in Johor. He must have been very tired after driving from KL that nite. The post mortem revealed Along had a stroke. He was a pillar in our family and losing him had affected every member of our big families. May Allah placed him with the Righteous. Along is survived by his beloved wife and 2 beautiful children. I know one thing, Along loved all of us and willing to sacrificed anything just for us and his family. May Allah give strength to his family and children for this trying moment.

Amin.

Bangla Flu

I had a very bad flu today and it not only caused me headache and dry cough but also back pain.

I seldom sick . But this time around I was knock out by this virus that I had codenamed "Bangla Virus". It reminded me of the same uncomfortable high fever I experienced long time ago after my visit to Delhi. First, it caused you to have dry mouth and dry throat. Then came the unstoppable coughing that caused your throat and vocal cord to swell, it was so painful it made your eyes turn to tears. It also caused you to have diorhea.

I had tried everything including the one dozen antibiotics and some cough syrup prescribed by Dr Nik. But the results is the same. I still had the tingling itchy feeling in my throat and it always ended-up with bad continous dry coughing and it sounded funny.

We had a division meeting last Sunday. I was glad I was not alone as during the meeting several Managers were coughing, the same one that I had, only that they sounded worst than me. At one time almost every other person was coughing and almost interrupted the meeting. Somehow, I felt better knowing I am not alone downed with this Bangla Virus..

Someone told me the traditional precsription for the cough " 3 camca kicap masin and perah dgn satu sudu limau kasturi". I will try tonite and watch my favourite movie till sahur time.

Dr M join UMNO again

1. Tun Dr Mahathir joined back UMNO today.
2. But he was not sure if his application will be accepted by the UMNO Supreme Council.
3. It will be good not only for the Malays but for all Malaysians if Tun is able to contribute again.
4. Tun is one of the geniuses (they come every 100 years in each society) that Malaysia is lucky to have.
5. Of all the previous PM, Tun Dr Mahathir is the one who stands out.
6. May Allah bless him with good health to guide us again.

TJ and NYPD Family Gathering

The whole family was invited to "Tok Jantan and Nek Yang Peah, Port Dickson" (TJ &NY PD) family gathering yesterday at Port Dickson Country Club.

The organizer Papa Ariffin and Pak Cik Darif managed to put an exciting program at the swimming pool with nostalgic touch. The food was excellent with Kambing Golek (grilled lamb) and the ambience was simply mesmerising.

Attended by more than 200 people I am touched with the many family members that my great grand father and grandmother had. I am the 3rd generation . Tok Busu Nordin the only surviving 1st generation and Tok Long Ibrahim were there.

The children really had fun. The darling of the nite belong to Huda Rafeah 4 years old baby girl (cucu Wan Hapipah). She attracted everyone attention with her spontaneous act and of course the Bollywood Gelek.

Other surprises include the ability of many of my aunties Prof Sabariah, Nek Busu Intan and the children to dance beautifully to the addictive Poco-Poco rhythm. I did try but failed miserably.

Hope we are able to meet again next year.

The Secret

Someone introduce me to The Secret recently, and I am glad I watch the DVD.
